Learning Support Teacher

Part-time

This is a freelance role, the postholder will be self-employed

Required for end of October half-term or sooner

 

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a self-employed visiting Learning Support teacher to take on 1:1 sessions with children from Year 1 - Year 8 in both English and Maths.  The role is flexible, with the successful candidate able to set their own working pattern, supporting children who need further consolidation in core subjects. The ability to work for a short time every day would be advantageous.

Those applying should prove that they have excellent classroom practice, strong communication skills and possess the ability to work as part of a team. Strong knowledge of KS1 and KS2 curriculum is essential, while knowledge of the KS3 curriculum would be desirable but not essential. 

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To teach 1:1 English and Maths sessions for children from Year 1 - Year 8

• To ensure parents are invoiced in a timely manner, collecting fees, and organising a teaching schedule.

• To communicate efficiently, accurately, and courteously with parents, pupils and colleagues about

percussion.

• To liaise with the Assistant Head Academic and Head of Learning Support regarding pupil progress and organisation.

Safeguarding

The safety and well-being of the children in School is paramount at all times. Staff are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact. Staff will adhere to and ensure compliance with the School’s Child Protection Policy at all times. If in the course of carrying out their duties, a member of staff becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the School, it is their responsibility to report any concerns to the school’s Designated Senior Lead for Child Protection or the Headmaster.

Online Searches

As part of the shortlisting process, the School will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.  This may help to identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, that the School may want to explore with an applicant at interview. This forms part of the School’s wider safeguarding due diligence which aims to prevent and/or deter individuals who may be unsuitable to work with children from working in a school environment.
