Our Pre-Prep places a strong emphasis on pastoral care, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and supported in their emotional and social development.
Children benefit from experienced Class Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Youth Mental Health First Aiders and a Pre-Prep Pastoral Lead.
For our children in the Early Years, we create a nurturing environment where their wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated staff work closely with children to help them navigate their first experiences of school life, fostering a sense of belonging and security.
Each child in the Nursery will be assigned to a Key Person within the class. Children see their Key Person as a familiar face in the setting who will support children's everyday needs.
When children join Reception, they benefit from small class sizes, a Class Teacher and a Teaching Assistant. Through positive reinforcement, active listening, and gentle guidance, we help our youngest children develop empathy, resilience, and social confidence. Our focus is on building trusting relationships, allowing each child to feel understood and supported as they grow and develop.
In Key Stage One, we continue to provide a supportive and caring environment that promotes emotional well-being and personal growth. As children become more independent, our pastoral care focuses on helping them manage new challenges, develop self-awareness, and build meaningful relationships with peers. We encourage open communication, teaching children to express their feelings and work through problems with confidence.
Through a range of initiatives, including … weekly values assemblies, PSHE lessons and regular check-ins from the Pastoral Leadership team, we ensure that each child is not only thriving academically but also emotionally, laying the foundation for well-rounded personal development.
