We are unique as a day school in being able to offer so much sport to our children and have a comprehensive 'Sport for All' policy in place. Prior to Year 3, the focus is to build a child's physical literacy. This continues in the Prep School where sport takes place in five lessons of the week in the form of PE or Games with the addition of competitive fixtures against other schools in which all pupils are involved in. Our A sides have the opportunity to play in regional and national tournaments and in the past we have been very successful, with the highlight being the three consecutive years from 2016 our U13 football sides won the IAPS National Title.
Football, rugby and cricket are the core sports for boys in the three terms, with the girls core sports being football, netball, swimming and cricket. Due to our fantastic grounds and vast acreage, we have 15 pitches for football, 2 netball courts and 7 cricket wickets as well as six golf holes and six driving range mats. Our grounds have also been mapped out for us to complete various orienteering courses. Pupils from Year 3 have the opportunity to swim in the outdoor pool and compete in both in-house and external competitions. We also have 3 outdoor cricket nets and two indoor nets in the sports hall. This multi-purpose area allows us to play basketball, futsal, mini tennis, badminton, pop lacrosse and unihoc among other activities. Gymnastics, athletics and cross-country teams make up a large part of our PE programme too.
As a Department our aims are:
