We are delighted to have our state-of-the-art outdoor classroom nominated by the designers, Timotay, for the APL (Association of Professional Landscapers) annual commercial design awards. Today, Joe Panter from Timotay and Phil Tremayne, Manager for the ALP came to view our wonderful Pre-Prep facility and judge it for the competition. Although Timotay design and build up to 50 facilities a year, they felt that the Westbrook Hay project was a superb example and could be an award-winning build. As part of the judging criteria, Phil was very keen to understand the project from conception to completion and how the design enhanced children’s learning. Our Head of Pre-Prep, Victoria Gibbs, showed Phil how every element of the outdoor classroom contributes to the children’s learning, but in an imaginative and creative space.
Despite a whopping 140 entries, we really hope that we will be successful in progressing to the next stage in the competition! The outdoor classroom is certainly a winner with our children.
