The Eco Warriors hosted a special event at Westbrook Hay: a tree planting and non-uniform day. Their ambitious goal was to plant a record number of trees while supporting The One Tree Charity. For every pound donated, The One Tree Charity pledged to plant a tree in a needy area around the world. The event aimed not only to contribute to a greener planet but also to raise environmental awareness within the school community.
Here are the key highlights:
Tree Planting: The Woodland Trust generously donated 105 saplings. Each class took responsibility for planting one sapling, with the remaining trees scheduled for planting over the coming days. While the nursery had an easier time due to pre-dug holes, other classes faced a more challenging task.
Non-Uniform Day: To mark the occasion, the entire school community was invited to wear something green. This symbolic gesture emphasized the importance of environmental consciousness and encouraged everyone to participate actively.
