We were thrilled to host our first Senior U12 girls’ football tournament last week. The festival of football saw over 100 girls from 9 different senior schools competing in a fun and exciting event. Thank you to Kings Langley, Tring, Notre Dame in Cobham, St Mary’s Ascot, Dr Challoners, Adeyfield, Chesham Grammar and Longdean for taking part.
We were very impressed with all of the girls’ attitude and determination, there were some extremely talented individuals performing but the togetherness and team spirit of each team shone through from every school.
For Westbrook Hay, the highlight was our nail-biting penalty shoot-out in the final playoff game. All the girls took a penalty kick, with Myiah proving the hero making a great diving save down low to her right to seal our win and an eventual 5th place.
The tournament was a great confidence-building event for the girls who are developing into skilled players and a passionate and determined team. We look forward to hosting this event annually.
