As part of our Green Travel Plan and commitment to sustainability, last week we took part in Living Streets’ ‘Walk to School Week’ both to support the healthy benefits of walking in the fresh air and to reduce the traffic and emissions around the school. Over the course of the week our children joined 'walking buses' from Little Hay Golf Course and the Boxmoor Trust Centre. We had children walking from Potten End and cycling along the towpath from Apsley and even home to Tring. There was ‘Park and Stride’ from the Old Barn Car Park and the Horsebox Café was open daily with coffee and croissants for walking parents to enjoy. 25% of children took part with 20% of parents joining them. There was a 5% reduction in cars coming up the drive and an overall 10% reduction in cars coming onto the school campus. A huge thank you to our parents, staff and neighbours for their support.
