Year 7 pupils from Westbrook Hay recently went on an educational trip to Kent to enhance their understanding of Medieval history. They've been studying various historical events from 1066 to 1485. During the two-day trip, they visited Canterbury Cathedral, the site of Archbishop Thomas Becket's murder, and Hastings Battlefield where King Harold Godwinson faced Duke William of Normandy for the English throne.
Knowledgeable guides at the cathedral answered pupils' questions and made the building come alive. The pupils also reenacted Norman battlefield charges. The trip not only enriched their historical knowledge but also helped build bonds among them, with a group dinner at Pizza Express and a popular all-you-can-eat breakfast.
