I have been working in Prep Schools since 2006 and, prior to Westbrook Hay, I was Head of Boarding and Head of History at Cheltenham College Prep School, where I have been for the last seven years. As well as running a 7 to 13 coeducational Boarding House and teaching History to Years 6 to 8, I have coached rugby, hockey and cricket, as well as the 1st XI football team.
Graduating from Cardiff University with a BA in Ancient and Medieval History, I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of history and I am at my happiest when visiting battlefields, castles and cathedrals. Although my enthusiasm far outweighs my talent, I love playing sport, as well as watching. My main passion is for football and despite my father’s best efforts to put me off by making me become a ‘Stockport County’ fan, I have been watching their fortunes, but largely misfortunes, ever since!
I am really looking forward to joining Westbrook Hay and living on site, with my wife and son, we have already received a warm welcome and we are excited to be a part of the community. I have been fortunate to have worked at four similar Prep Schools, which encourage an all-round education and develop well-rounded individuals. This was very much the feeling of visiting Westbrook Hay.
