Mr Saviours Ndau

Head of Geography and Year 8 Form Teacher

I first walked into a classroom to teach in 1984 it was just for 5 years and I had promised myself to move on. My dream job was to be a barrister. Little did I know that teaching is not just a job but a calling and hence many years down the line I still find myself clutching onto what used to be the chalk, now the interactive whiteboard pen. This calling has taken me to places far and wide. I have taught in Africa, Oceania and now Europe and during the process I have had the experience to teach children from all socio- economic and cultural backgrounds in all the three continents.
My first tour of duty in the UK was in London then Leeds before I moved to the South Coast. Having been Head of Geography and Housemaster in Brighton for 10 years, I left to join Thomas’ Prep in London before moving to my beloved Westbrook Hay in 2014. I just fell in love with this place the calming atmosphere, the community feel amongst the parents, the wonderful and friendly staff and most importantly the ever smiling and enthusiastic pupils here have made me feel at home.
My passion is Geography I live, eat and drink Geography and I believe that Geographers never die, instead they become legends. In my spare time I travel a lot and have been to all but one continent. I love sport with cricket and football being my favourites and of course I’m an ardent Arsenal fan to the annoyance of the one and only Mr Woodward. I also love cooking and baking and when I am not doing any of these I just hibernate. What does the future hold for me, Well, I still secretly say to myself “When I grow up I would like to be a barrister.”
Well, it will remain a pipe dream because teaching has taken its roots in me.
